More Retro Goodness on Flashbak

5 Video Store Memories of the 1980s

Yes, I know.  Retrospace has withered into nothing but Flashbak links.  Such is life.  One day, when my ship comes in and I can quit my day job, I'll have time enough for retro musings from dusk till dawn.  Until that fictional day arrives, however, Retrospace will have to stay dormant.  But please note that there's very Retrospace-ish posts by yours truly posted every day over at Flashbak.  So, you can still get your fix.... and here's a few links to get you started.

Recent Stuff on Flashbak

Vinyl 2 of a Kind: A Study Of Album Look-a-Likes

Longtime readers of Retrospace may find some recent Flashbak articles familiar; there's been a lot of new content to check out.  I've been happy to see some familiar names commenting on the new site.  Little by little it's starting to look a lot like Retrospace.  There's a few other contributors as well, so there's actually more stuff to peruse through (author John Kenneth Muir's stuff is dynamite).  Here a few articles I've put up on Flashbak that I think Retrospace readers would appreciate.  Check 'em out!

Yep.  Miniskirt Monday, a time-honored tradition around Retrospace, has been incorporated into Flashbak.  Do yourself a favor and check it out.  The tradition continues.

This is easily one of my favorite posts I've ever done.  It's not as pervy as the title sounds, and a lot of fun to put together - and surprising how often this trope occurs.

Mini Skirt Monday on Flashbak

Miniskirt Monday is coming to Flashbak.

When you think about it, it's only right that Miniskirt Monday should wind up on a British site - the originators of the mini.  I'm interested to see how these mini-centric posts will do on the new site.

Please note that many of the new Miniskirt Monday pics will look very familiar to longtime Retrospace readers. Have no fear.  While I plan to summon forth pictures from old MM posts, there will be plenty of new material to share in the future.  Also check out other articles by yours truly (Yeoman Lowbrow) See you there!

Bad Solo Albums and The Music Behind Horrible Album Art

A couple posts of mine are up on the new Flashbak site. Check them out.

Bad Album Covers Exposed! The Music Behind the Worst Vinyl Art Of All Time

I'll be doing about two posts a day over at Flashbak, so you'll actually get posts by your old friend Gilligan more regularly than at Retrospace.  We'll often cover similar topics (some stories may look familiar), but mostly, it will be brand spanking new retro goodness.  I hope you'll pay it a visit.  See you there.

Flashbak Has Arrived!

It's time to celebrate, people.  There's a new site up called Flashbak which will feature regular offerings by yours truly.  Yes, Retrospace has fallen onto hard times (I'll spare you from once again going into the reasons why); but, it's rising like a phoenix from the ashes on Flashbak.... we even plan on re-instituting the beloved Miniskirt Monday!

As you know, I've been contributing to Anorak, a UK site which is not specifically retrocentric.  The new spinoff site will feature 100 percent retro goodness.  If you liked Retrospace, I encourage you to take a look and drop in from time to time.  I'd love to hear from you on the other side!

Is Rock And Roll Dead? No. It Just Smells Bad

Check out this article I wrote for Anorak.  I feel pretty strongly about it, but I'm sure there will be plenty that disagree.  Please leave a comment over at the Anorak site - I'd love to hear from you over there!
